West Cheshire Athletic Club
West Cheshire Athletic Club serves the areas of Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston, providing coaching and competition for all age groups in all events, from its bases at the Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre, the Cheshire County Sports Club, Upton, and the Northgate Arena. The club was formed in April 1998 by the amalgamation of Chester and Ellesmere Port AC (CEPAC) and Whitby Heath AC, helping us to field competitive male and female teams in road running, cross-country and track and field events across all age groups from 8 to 80+.
Supporting our athletes are a dedicated group of qualified coaches in all disciplines and enough graded Technical Officials to host any level of competition.
The club has won several awards, including the Sport England Clubmark in April 2004; the National Junior Club of the Year and the North-west Regional Junior uk:athletics club of the year award in 2005; and, in 2007, the Cheshire and Warrington Sport Partnership Sports Club Of The Year, the England Athletics North-west Region Best Club, and the Sport England-sponsored BBC North West Community Sport Club of the Year.
