Road Running Matters

See here for road-running performances by West Cheshire AC members in 2011.

See here to keep in touch with road running matters at WCAC via facebook.

West Cheshire A.C. organise three races in and around Chester: two road races in April and September, and a multi-terrain race on Boxing Day. We also provide marshalling assistance for the Chester Half-marathon, which is organised by Active Leisure Events.

WCAC members who enter our races are asked to provide someone who can help on race day. There has previously been free race entry to WCAC members who do so; as WCAC's involvement in the half-marathon organisation is limited to marshalling, please watch this space for any changes to this policy.

The club's road runners are encouraged to compete in the Borders Road Running League, road relays, endurance points competition and Cheshire Grand Prix series and handicap scheme.

They can also represent the club in other road races: see the fixture list for details.

There is a variety of training sessions on three nights a week for seniors.

Road Racing is covered by uk:athletics rules 201 to 215, summarised here.

The Road Runners Club is a useful source of information. Membership gives personal insurance and magazine reports on worldwide road/ ultra-distance running three times a year.
